Philo, California
This home sits on the edge of a canyon in the western coastal range above the Anderson Valley in Northern California.
The solid redwood columns are from trees that were felled on the site before the owner purchased the land. The height of the six tallest trunks determined the ridge height, the six shorter determined the eave height.
All materials are left in their natural state. James Dixon was the project architect for this home while working with the late Aaron Green, FAIA.
